Sonoma Heights is a relatively new neighborhood in West Woodbridge is bordered by Rutherford Road on the South, Major Mackenzie on the North, Hwy 27 on the West and Islington Avenue / Canada Company Avenue on the East side. There are several parks in the neighborhood around all the elementary schools in the area, but the biggest is the Sonoma Heights Community Park. This park has, along with the playground, a splash pool, soccer fields, tennis and bocce courts, a baseball field, baketball court and plenty of parking. Outdoor concerts are planned by the City of Vaughan over the summer in the Sonoma Heights Community Park.
For groceries, the main stores are Metro(9600 Islington Avenue) and Longos(Clarence Street and Rutherford Road). The Shoppers Drug Mart plazza at Islington Avenue and Rutherford Road also presents a variety of stores, from pizza to boutique clothing.
Vaughan Mills is close by, either by bus (YRT Route 85) or a ten minute drive away.
